Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, Registered Play Therapist, National Certified Counselor, Certified School Counselor

I help clients find practical solutions to solve life challenges.

I assess clients’ needs and tailor counseling interventions used based on clients’ needs. My approach is very individualized and creative, including when I integrate play therapy into counseling sessions.

I specialize in counseling children, adolescents, and adults, who are experiencing anxiety, ADD/ADHD, and life transitions, as well as career and substance use concerns.

Valerie Mendoza

Licensed Professional Counselor

I utilize a multi-modal approach that integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Mindfulness. This combination allows me to tailor interventions to each individual’s needs, promoting effective change and personal growth.

Before entering the field of counseling, I gained valuable experience in nonprofit management. Additionally, I taught middle and high school science, and have served as a school counselor for both middle and high school students. These roles have provided me with a broad understanding of educational and organizational environments, as well as the unique challenges faced by students and staff.

I am dedicated to supporting diverse communities and have experience working with children, youth, and individuals navigating various life challenges. My work centers on helping people recognize their strengths and discover effective strategies for personal development and growth.

My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, stress management, and conflict resolution. I approach counseling as a collaborative process, focusing on developing strengths and providing support tailored to each individual’s pace and needs.

Outside of my counseling work, I enjoy spending time in my craft room, where I sew, embroider, and knit. I am also the proud owner of three amazing furbabies—three very spoiled rescued felines.

Lynn Meyer

Licensed Professional Counselor

I am a “carefrontational” therapist. I will figuratively hold your hand while giving you hard/tough reality, while working through the difficult times. Most of my clients come to counseling for anxiety, depression or life issues. We soon find out that it’s bigger than that. My background experience has been in these areas and also trauma. Doing “the work” is key to counseling/therapy. If you’re not ready, and that’s okay, please do not choose me to be your therapist. We do work in here!

I am here to assist you in becoming who want, changing your actions/behaviors, and improving your life. Therapy is not all concerns and life stressors; it’s also about reframing, managing and/or omitting.

You can expect to be heard, seen and supported. Together we will build a rapport that will allow for acceptance, growth and a change in your life.

Lauren O'Malley

Licensed Professional Counselor

I generally have an eclectic approach that allows me to use techniques tailored to each individuals’ experience. I often incorporate CBT, Solution-Focused and Narrative Therapy approaches. I am client centered and meet you where you are on your journey. I remind clients that therapy is not a spring, but rather a marathon, and to trust in the process of building a healthier version of themselves.

I find it very rewarding to watch clients grow into their healthiest selves. I enjoy the trust my clients put in the therapeutic relationship and continue to learn from each individual I meet.

Each session looks a little different. Although I do always have a game plan, I encourage clients to explore what they feel is most beneficial for them in that moment.

Yes, therapy is hard work, but so worth it. You bring the desire and motivation for change and I’ll bring the tools and humor to help guide you there. Let’s get to know one another. I look forward to meeting you soon.

Sharon Ortiz

Licensed Professional Counselor

I specialize in adult individual therapy and am currently only seeing new clients in person. I am considered a trauma counselor, however, I have extensive background knowledge working with the military and their spouses, geriatrics, change of life including empty nesting, switching careers, and infertility. I am CBT based, however, I tend to focus on existentialism philosophy (heavy focus on goals). I have received training in Emotion Focused Therapy and will tailor therapy based on the client’s needs. I maintain certifications in trauma focused CBT, de-escalation management, and multicultural disaster crisis response.
I also have a certification in psychological first aid coming from a background in crisis intervention and management. My approach to working with clients tends to be meeting the client “where they are” using psychoeducation to promote understanding and normalizing their experiences. I am a collaborative therapist who focuses on building rapport and safe space; and is goal oriented. What is unique about my work is in the collaboration and adjusting my style to the strengths of the client. I am not locked into a therapeutic modality.
When working with me it would be important for the client to know that I am collaborative and will hold the client accountable in order to help the client reach the goals that they have decided for themselves. I will not tell a client what they need to do, rather will help a client figure out what it is that they would like to do. Therapy is about work and focusing on change. As we go to the gym to strengthen our body, we go to therapy to heal and strengthen our mind.

Catherine Aguilar

Licensed Professional Counselor

I utilize a combination of CBT and Solution Focused approaches to create a person centered treatment plan working cooperatively with you to achieve your goals for mental health recovery.

I like to meet everyone where they are in life when they join a session and reassurance that sometimes we are not always sure what we want or need.

It’s rewarding to help guide people through the tough times in their life.

I like to think outside the box when helping a client enhance their coping skills or just identifying a path they previously did not see for themselves. I also like to celebrate your personal achievements throughout the therapeutic process.

I believe in being straight forward and transparent while also bringing humor into the experience.

Trish Leaver

Licensed Professional Counselor

I specialize in Trauma, Chronic Pain/Conditions, Marriage/Couples, Military/Vet’s & their fa I am certified in CCTP (Certified Clinical Trauma Provider), and I have specialized training in MBCT (Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy).

I believe in a Person-Centered, CBT, MBCT, & Narrative approach to working with clients. Each client life has a story to tell, as such, there are learned generational narratives that develop into learned inner dialogs and behaviors.

I try to exhibit empathy and compassion while helping my clients to explore their deep wounds, heal, process through their thoughts and feelings, and inspire/encourage empowerment of each client. I truly feel that each client is the expert in their own lives, and each family member is part of the wheel that makes the family whole. If one individual is struggling, then all may be struggling.

I am a military child and wife and have lived all over the world. I have had the privilege of experiencing many different cultures. I am an extrovert, and you will often find me talking to someone I met at the grocery store. I believe in being kind, but firm when need be and seek to always show empathy in any situation I encounter.

Gladys Cisneros

Licensed Professional Counselor

Are you worried and feeling helpless because your child or teen has become withdrawn, irritable, unmotivated, depressed, or anxious—and won’t accept your help or guidance? Let’s work together to give your child the tools they need to be resilient, to feel happy and fulfilled, no matter what life has in store for them.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 10 years of experience supporting children and adolescents. I specialize in helping young people struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, and suicidal ideation. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a proven approach that teaches children to recognize that difficult thoughts and feelings are normal human experiences—not something to fear or avoid. From there, I guide them in committing to meaningful actions that help them move forward and create positive change so that they can thrive even when challenges arise.
Together we can help your child regulate their emotions and cope with unavoidable ups and downs of life. My goal is to help your child to accept their reality, to understand that negative emotions are part of life, and that acknowledging these emotions can help get past them.
